  I signed my pup up for pack hikes with Action Dog this summer and they are just as great as I’d hoped! He comes back happy and tired after getting exactly the type of exercise and social time that I would love to give him more of myself. Elana is a great communicator and a total professional—she has a real process for introducing each dog into the pack to make sure they all get along and stay safe on their hikes.   I couldn't recommend Elana more strongly for anyone's pet care needs.  Elana truly cares about the well-being of the pets she watches.  I know that our dog will be safe and loved when she is in Elana's care, which is all I could ever ask for.  We've worked with Elana continuously since 2019.  In addition to taking our dog on daily off-leash hikes, Elana has also watched our pup for extended periods of time while we were on vacation, taking our dog into her home.   Elana has walked and cared for my now senior dog (12 .5 yrs old), Sam,  since he was 6 months old.  Elana "has a way" with dogs and dogs form strong bonds with her. She is trained in dog behavior and is conscientious about keeping her dogs safe while they have fun on adventure walks.  Sam has boarded with Elana and even gone on camping trips with her.  Over the past 12+ years she has been supportive, giving advice and referrals when Sam has had health issues or has needed to go to the vet. Sam adores her and I feel grateful to have been able to trust her with my precious family member.  As far as the actual adventure walks - it's a no-brainer.  Elana gets the dogs out to fun places and they have a blast.  Sam comes home happy and well exercised.

  Elana and the Action Dog team are the absolute best. Our dog Finnegan has been hiking with Action Dog for 2 years - he started when he was 6 months old. Finnegan absolutely loves the pack hikes, loves his dog-buddies and loves Elana (as well as all of the Action Dog team). We have also boarded Finnegan with Elana multiple times, and Finnegan has such a blast that he is sad to leave her when dropped off (we try not to take it personally!).   We used Action Dog’s services when we lived in the Bay Area. I can say, without a doubt, that our dog had some of the most stimulated, exercised, and socialized years of her life while we were clients. If you, like us at the time, work full time and have fur-children, day time dog-hikes with Elana are 100% worthwhile.

We utilized Action Dog for day-hikes, overnights and occasionally Elana checked in our cat for us. From the pictures we would see while our pets were in their care, we know they were well looked after, and even spoiled! Elana was super responsive and dependable.   Action Dog has been a new addition to our family once our rambunctious puppy turned a year old. They adopted her like their own, took her on hikes and kept my little Gooshy at their home when we were out of town.

 Verified I could not recommend ActionDog! enough! My puppy Peanut was very nervous for her first hike so Elana and Jeff suggested I tag along to ease her in. It was so impressive to see Elana effortlessly manage the 5-6 dogs, ensuring each one was accounted for at all times and pacing the walk appropriately for dogs of various speeds. Peanut has an absolute ball on her walks (according to the cute pictures) and comes home happy and tired. Elana and Jeff are tuned in to each dog's needs and provide a controlled environment for some off-leash fun.

 Verified Action Dog! has been picking up my lazy dog to go on hikes a few times a week. Hendrix is very lazy and doesn't like to go on walks, but I can tell he thoroughly enjoys hiking with his buddies. They have always been very reliable and the prices are reasonable. Elana and Jeff also post the cutest pictures of the dogs on Instagram, so I can see their smiling faces. I would definitely recommend them!

 Verified Jeff and Elena treat us like an extended part of their family, Sky has been part of their crew for 2 years now. They have been very reliable from day 1, they train their new staff very well and make sure the dogs are comfortable with them before they lead the pack. I don't trust many people with Sky but I have full trust in the go action crew.  Verified Action Dog! has been a great support for our dog Murphy. He's been in their hiking "packs" for a few years now. Elana and Jeff and their crews are super friendly and always professional. They've even helped with his reactivity and related training needs. I love that he's off-leash and getting energy release and socialization at the same time.  Verified Action Dog! picks up my dog and takes him on an off-leash hike 3 days a week with some of his friends. A pretty incredible option, especially living in a city. I appreciate this service! Great price as well. I will say I wish there was more communication between Action Dog and myself. I don't ever receive a report card or otherwise direct communication. They have an instagram and post photos of dogs daily, but my dog is rarely in the pictures. I would appreciate a follow-up so that I know my dog has had a walk and enjoyed himself. Even just a text- picked up! And dropped off! As the walks are different times each day.As a follow up- I really appreciate Jeff's attention to my review (sorry Jeff I don't see a way to respond down there- so I'll respond here!)The reason I like to leave reviews is because I rely heavily on yelp as I move often. I appreciate an honest review and just want the best care for my dog. I recognize I may be an overly involved dog mom but I feel guilty the whole day I'm at work and a picture of him running off leash offsets that worry. I wait for the Instagram photos each day and am just disappointed when he's not on.  Verified This review is long, long overdue. Elana, Jeff and Sylvester have been watching our Waffles 3-4 days a week now for almost three years, and they've been nothing short of amazing. They are caring, flexible, timely, responsive and Waffles absolutely adores them. In addition to joining them on daily off leash hikes all across Oakland and Berkeley, we've left Waffles overnight with Action Dog about a dozen times. Bottom line is that we have the ultimate trust in this team and know that Waffles is always in good, loving hands with them.  Verified Our Samoyed would become so excited when it was time for Action Dog to pick him up.  He loved his hikes and the team at Action Dog!  Verified Action Dog is fantastic! Very reliable and friendly. Love that you can pay over Venmo now, they always clean my dog off if it's rainy/muddy and took great care of him. I'm moving to SF now and hope that I can find a service like this out there!
